Another first flap of interest to NY Collectors recently ended on eBay, a Gonlix Lodge #34 F1 First Flap.
Clicking on the image will bring you to the auction for the next few weeks.
There were 7 unique bidders who made 15 bids on this item. five of them sticking in it to over $ 80.00 before the final hammer came down at $ 88.88.
It started at a modest $ 4.99 opening bid. Did it find its true value?

If that is the “real value”, then values have surely dropped. I sold several in the $150 range in the early 2000s. I haven’t sold or traded any in recent years.
Looks like about a dozen have sold in the last 18 months or so according to a pricing service I subscribe to. From $79 to $162, about half of them closed over $100. Four of them were over $125.
I think prices have taken a hit in general since 2007-2008 for a variety of reasons including the overall economy.
My thoughts on prices.
1) OLD guys (or wives) selling off their stuff
2) younger guys seem to avoid items over $20 (and the fewer that really collect these days)
