Nick Stoner Lodge #418 A1

An auction recently ended on eBay for a Nick Stoner Lodge #418 A1.  This is the only issue from the long merged NY OA Lodge.  The auction began at only $ 9.99 and ended 13 bids later at $ 950.00. While this is a respectable amount, it is probably only half or 2/3’s of what it might have gone for a couple of years ago. A sign of these economic times? O=r have all of the deep pocket collectors who were willing to pay $ 1,500+ now have one and it moves down to the next tier who are willing to pay circa $ 1,000.

Clicking on the image will bring you to the auction results for the next few months.

Over the years, I have hear rumors that the Nick Stoner Arrowhead was not issued until after the 1953 name change to Thay-En-Da-Ne-Gea Lodge#418.

Anyone know the real story after all this time?

—————-

“If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy. Of all the enemies to public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. The loss of liberty at home is to be charged to the provisions against danger, real or imagined, from abroad.” – James Madison
