An item recently ended on eBay, entitled “Sisilija Lodge 19 X2 dance team patch“Â Did a poor description cost the seller money? Did the Buyer get a bargain?
While the seller did have a picture of the patch pictured below;
the seller identified it as the 19X2. This was the designation under Arapaho ( an OA Collecting guide put out beginning in the 1970’s), however the Blue Book (since its inception) has identified it as the 19J1.
This patch has sold as high as $ 700 on eBay, and more recently in the $ 175-225 range.
The Blue Book identifies the 19X2 as;
The 19X2 typically sells for $ 10.00 on eBay in recent times and is seen regularly.
The gavel came down in this auction at $ 104.00
Did a poor description cost the seller money? Did the Buyer get a bargain?
A sign of the times and worries about the economy? Less demand for obscure merged lodge issues? Typically Dance and Ceremonial team issues have very limited runs and ar bid up; but there were only three bidders in this auction.
Not enough eyes over the holidays or did the 19X2 description cause fewer to look at the picture?
So what do you think?
