This is the second in a series of posts highlighting items on eBay. The item in todays post, is not from New York, but is from a Lodge from Connecticut and is part of Section NE-2C. The patch featured in the auction is a an Anniversary Patch from the Quinnipiac Dancers from Owaneco Lodge #313.
The auction for the Quinnipiac Dancers Patch which can be seen on eBay, by following the link. Here is an item that was only issued a handful of years ago which already commands a significant price.
This auction illustrates one sub-set of collecting OA issues. There are a number of collectors who specialize in Dance and Ceremonial Team issues. These patches are generally issued in small numbers and frequently must be earned by the team members. That makes these patches sought after by not only collectors of Owaneco Lodge, but Dance Team issue Collectors as well.
The issue pictured in the Auction is not listed on OAimages, does anyone know the full details behind this item?
Since the auction will only be available for a limited time, I have pictured the 313S17 below. This flap is identical to the one in the eBay auction, with the exception of the border color. The one in the auction has a GMY bodrder, not a Dark Blue Border.

Bill, while not (yet) listed in Blue Book I have a price point of $540 for this gold mylar bordered flaps, selling last November.
Beyond that, I know nothing about it.
John,
I did,t list the final bid in my post, but by following the link you can see this one went for over $600. Whether they are #313 collectors or Dance Team Collectors, there are some deep pockets for this type of material.
The GMY border of the Dance Team flap is an unauthorized issue. The Executive Committee of the Lodge did not approve it and the private manufacturer has not claimed responsibility for it being produced. There are other theories and accounts, but we believe there are only a few of these around.
There have been two listed on eBay thus far. I know of one other that a Lodge member found at NOAC 04 on a trading blanket.
