Some of you may be familiar with Wikipedia. They describe themselves as
Wikipedia (IPA: /ËŒwikiˈpiËdi.É™/ or /ËŒwɪkiˈpiËdi.É™/) is a multilingual, web-based, free content encyclopedia project. The name Wikipedia is a portmanteau of the words wiki (a type of collaborative website) and encyclopedia. Wikipedia’s articles provide links to guide the user to related pages with additional information.
Roy More of The Scout Patch Auction (TSPA) has created the ScoutPatchWiki. Still a work in progress, you can see the start of some pages on RWS and Collar or Hat Pins. When fully realized, this could provide collectors with a wealth of knowledge. Kudos to Roy for this and his blog. His most recent blog post deals with patch designs with striking similarities.
Bill,
Thanks for the kind words. Yes the Scout Patch Wiki is a work in progress but you catch on that it will always be a work in progress as we’re always finding out new information. It is open for any and all to contribute in order to advance the knowledge of the hobby whether your specialization in New York issues to others in OA, Scout insignia, world jamborees, everything…
Feel free to use it but also feel free to contribute. If you have any questions how to add a page in, just ask.
Yours in Scouting and collecting,
Roy
