One of my acquisitions from the WNYTA TOR this past weekend was the 1957 Area 2-E conclave neckerchief. The conclave was hosted by Ganosote Lodge #159 and held at their Scouthaven.
Mike Hulsizer also reports a staff?, prototype?, private issue? version on his site. Anyone have more information of this item?
The OA Section List shows the following lodges composes Area 2-E at this time:
- Ty-Ohni Lodge #95
- Ganosote Lodge #159
- Chautauqua Lodge #165
- Tuscarora Lodge #284
- Amo’chk Lodge #339
- Tuighaunock Lodge #409

My reaction, looking at Mike’s picture of the embroidered version, is that unless some more surface–or unless that embroidered neckerchief has a provenance that convincingly makes the case that it is old enough–I would be suspicious. That picture looks a lot more like the modern home-sewing-machine-embroidered fake patches than it looks like items from the late 1950s–and for that matter, I don’t know of many neckerchiefs that old and with that much complex embroidery.
