The 1982 Section NE-2B Conclave was was held at Camp Portaferry. The theme of the event was “Kindle the Cheerfulness Within You.” From the totem on the patch, it would appear that the Conclave was hosted by Adirondack Lodge #357, however Manatoanna Lodge #461 merged with Adirondack Lodge #357 merged in June 1982 to form Gosh-Wha-Gono Lodge #120.
Was this Adirondack Lodges last activity or Gosh Wha Gono’s first?
There were at least three items issued for this event; a pocket patch

a jacket patch:

and a neckerchief.

Update – May 30, 2009: Ray Gould sends along pictures of two additional items issued for the event, a staff neckerchief:

and a neckerchief slide:

Both are needs for me.
According to the OA Section List, the following lodges were part of NE-2B at this time:
- Ona Yote Lodge #34
- Tahgajute Lodge #247
- Kamargo Lodge #294
- Adirondack Lodge #357 ?
- Nischa Nitis Lodge #410
- Manatoanna Lodge #461 ?
Thanks to Tom Wadnola for the scan of the pocket patch.

- With a stop light, green means ‘go’ and yellow means ‘slow down’. With a banana, however, it is quite the opposite. Yellow means ‘go’, green means ‘whoa, slow down’, and red means ‘where the heck did you get that banana?’
Hi Bill-
There was also a staff version of the neckerchief (I have one and will provide a scan shortly). The staff version is the same as the one you provided an image of but with “Staff” embroidered at bottom. The conclave was hosted at Camp Portaferry by Adirondack Lodge #357 (Gosh Wha Gono hosted the 1984 2B Conclave at Camp Portaferry…a mere 2 years later). I am uncertain when the 1982 conclave was held (spring or fall) but traditionally would be a fall event (if I have any old paperwork from this time…which I might….section newsletter/conclave program…..it may provide further info….I believe I’ll be able to accomplish that). Thanks again for all the great work you do reporting NY OA!
